Autopsy report reveals Dwayne Haskins was legally drunk and taking drugs before death
Dwayne Haskins Death: Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins died last month after being fatally struck by a dump truck while walking along an interstate highway in Florida, according to an autopsy report released Monday. An autopsy report revealed that Haskins had been legally drunk and taking drugs prior to being struck by the truck while walking on an interstate highway.
On April 9, 2016, Haskins was tragically struck on Interstate 595 near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport shortly before dawn. This resulted in his blood alcohol content exceeding 0.20, 2.5 times the legal limit for driving in Florida – 0.08.
Following the release of the autopsy report, Kalabrya Haskins’ widow issued a statement through her attorney pleading for privacy and patience.
“On behalf of Dwayne’s wife, family, and legacy – as well as for the truth itself – we respectfully ask and pray for privacy, patience, and the public to withhold any judgment during this period while law enforcement authorities continue their essential work,” read the statement in part.
According to researchers from the University of California, Davis and other universities, someone as heavy as Haskins’ weight – 230 pounds (104 kilograms) – would need at least 10 drinks in order to reach that level. He also had the powerful painkiller ketamine and its metabolite norketamine in his system; which can be prescribed by a doctor but also abused recreationally. Unfortunately, the report does not specify why this former Ohio State University star had it in his system.
Investigators reported that Haskins’ car had run out of gas near where he was struck, and witnesses described him trying to wave down cars while standing in the center lane when he was struck by both a truck and then an SUV. The report indicated he died from blunt force trauma but no charges have been filed.
Investigators were told by the Steelers that Haskins had no mental health issues and never made any suicidal threats. They added that he occasionally drank heavily and used marijuana occasionally, but otherwise used no recreational drugs. Ultimately, the medical examiner ruled his death an accident.
Haskins, 24, had been training with some of his Steelers teammates in South Florida. According to reports, Haskins went out for dinner with teammates and then to a club with either a friend or cousin in Miami where the two got into an argument and separated.
Kalabrya Haskins had been on the phone with his wife Kalabrya back in Pittsburgh shortly before he was struck, telling her he’d run out of gas. When 911 dispatcher put her on hold to check if anything had been reported, she could be heard praying on the recording. Finally, someone came on and instructed her to stay by her phone until help arrived.
Haskins achieved remarkable success at Ohio State in 2018, setting several school passing records and earning himself the MVP title in both the Big Ten Championship game and Rose Bowl victory over Washington Huskies.
Washington initially selected Haskins in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft, but ultimately released him after going 3-10 over two seasons. Pittsburgh signed him as a developmental quarterback but did not play in any games last season.

Additionally, this designer piece featured an overskirt which the star proudly showed off while walking down the red carpet.
Delevingne finished off her ensemble with black satin Casadei platform sandals and an amazing 74.73 carat necklace made of De Beers diamonds!
