The roles of Kelby in the 2002 film Brown Sugar, the sports-courier agent Damon Carter on the Showtime drama series Soul Food, and a recurring character on FOX’s The Last Man on Earth have made Boris Frederic Cecil Tay-(born March 8, 1973) a well-known American actor, producer, and former model. As Robert Sullivan, he co-stars in the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19 and on BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood.
The son of Eric Kodjoe, a Ghanaian doctor who is of the Ga-Adangbe people, and Ursula Kodjoe, a German psychologist with some Jewish ancestry, Kodjoe was born in Vienna, Austria[citation needed].
Boris Pasternak, a poet and author from Russia, is his namesake. Kodjoe’s maternal grandmother survived the war in hiding; his matrilineal great-grandmother was Jewish and perished in the Holocaust.
