Corflex Contender Post-Op Elbow Brace

A few weeks back, Craigs Los Angeles (the former manager of the famous Hollywood restaurant Dan Tana’s) interrupted a morning’s paperwork to receive a call from Junior Langlois, a three-time Stanley Cup champion.
“Junior, how are you, handsome?” “I was going to call,” Mr. Susser stated, leaning back on a swivel seat from his desk.
The office was located in the back of Craig’s new restaurant on Melrose Avenue. It had opened six days prior to Tana’s and another popular hangout the Palm.
“I love and cherish you, you are my brother,” Mr. Susser told Mr. Langlois. After a few soothing words, Mr. Susser hung up. “A lot people are upset with me,” Mr. Susser stated, “that they haven’t reached to me individually.”
Dan Tana, 75, might be upset that his former employee in another ritual of his restaurant business rallied investors to his new place. This included the billionaire Gary Winnick, and Jerry Weintraub from Dan Tana’s ranks. 45-year-old Mr. Susser said that he had been misled into believing he was the heir apparent of Mr. Tana. Craigs Los Angeles was shocked when Mr. Tana sold his house to Sonja Perencevic in 2009.
Mr. Tana reached him by telephone at his restaurant
- When Mr. Tana reached him by telephone at his restaurant, he said tersely that it was his wish for Mr. Susser to be well. “Craig was my eighth manager for almost 60 years.
- All of them have been great and I’m certain Christian will be too,” Mr. Tana stated, referring to Mr. Susser, whose surname he couldn’t recall. “With each one, I lost some customers and gained some old ones.”
- There are many old ones. Tana’s, or Tana’s as it is now known, was established on Santa Monica Boulevard in 1964 and served Italian food to the overflowing crowd at the Troubadour next door.
- It joined the Craigs Los Angeles -area tradition for clubby-chic chophouses. This includes Dominick’s where Sidney Korshak and Lew Wasserman had regular tables and whose namesake proprietor sized potential diners through a pinhole. Chasen’s is now closed. V.I.P.s had house bank accounts and the backroom was called Fresno. The food at Ma Maison, now defunct, never made it to the pantheon.
- As an actor and waiter at Tana’s restaurant, Mr. Susser started 23 years ago. He spent more than a decade working the Sunday and Monday shifts as a bartender. In 2002, he was promoted from maitre d’ to manager.
- He was known for his ability to handle difficult personalities such as a verbally abusive film executive, who wanted a table on a crowded New Years’ Eve. Instead, Mr. Susser offered to reserve a table at the Palm.
The executive snorted, “That’s all you can do.”
- Mr. Tana showed his protégé how to nurture the young like Paris Hilton or Brandon Davis while still respecting the older (Sumner Redstone enters the kitchen). His life was devoted to A-listers such as Ron Burkle, George Clooney, and Mark Wahlberg.
- While Mr. Susser was out with his future wife, Mr. Clooney took the tab across the room. Mr. Susser called it “The assistance of a lifetime.”
- He said that managing diners is not about serving food if it’s done right. We play golf together. We get along. We go to birthday parties together. Craigs Los Angeles is a place where people say there is no community. “I’m living proof of the existence of a community.”
- The elites have been lacking a central gathering spot in recent years. The much-hyped arrival at Sunset of Soho House, a New York import with a self-conscious exclusivity and from London, did not fill the void.
- Michael McCarty, the owner of Michael’s power-lunch spot in Santa Monica, Calif., said that there has been a long transition from old customer-focused restaurants. People love the idea that they can get together to see one another in a club when there is a recession.
- Ryan Phillippe, an actor and one of the 20 investors in Craigs Los Angeles can be expected to snag some stars on Oscar night.
- “The institutions that used to exist like Chasen’s or Morton’s are gone,” stated Mr. Phillippe. He is health conscious and loves Craig’s salmon and vegetable soup. Craig is a solid candidate, having worked for over two decades in an L.A.
- institution. He’s well-trained and knowledgeable about what makes a place great. You have to know how to massage people in New York or L.A.
- Mr. Susser stated that he lost a lot of money while trying to open a property. “He’d say, ‘God. L.A. is very different from New York. In New York, you have a good idea of how it works. You’re not sure in L.A.
- His recipe will be different than Mr. Tana’s (13 red and white checkered tables bearing Chianti jugs, standard Italian fare, and red Christmas tree lights attached to the ceiling).
- J. Scott Charles was a regular at Tana’s and was asked by Mr. Susser to create a storyboard with inspirational images.
- “It all originated in New York City, which is where I had to take him out of that because we are not in New York,” Mr. Charles stated. He had Elaine’s up there. He also owned the Monkey Bar. He may have had other older restaurants in L.A. Musso or Frank’s, but this was the clubby atmosphere he desired.”
Cadillac convertible
Charles said that the men chose to sit in booths with a “Cadillac convertible” color, instead of the traditional reds and blacks of a men’s club. The bar is authentic mahogany; the walls are made of brick veneer.
During a tour, Mr. Susser described the layout as being designed to provide privacy and display. He believes that the bar is large enough to allow patrons to relax while waiting, with a little bit of waiting time being crucial to the experience.
Mr. Susser stated that “the whole restaurant can see the bar” with only a few hidden tables. Fresno and Siberia are not available.
It’s warmth. It’s cubbyholes,” Mr. Susser stated. It’s dark, but not so dark that it’s hard to see.
He excused himself to meet Gary Bird, who has made a fortune selling music-industry trade magazines. A friend also came in for a quick dinner. The first table Mr. Bird was served at wasn’t his favorite. Jokingly,
Mr. Susser stated, “Sit anywhere you like, you don’t have to throw your weight around,” “The place is empty.”
Mr. Bird said, “Hey, I want to throw all my weight around, I’ll purchase half the place,” before settling down in a booth.
“Love you,” Mr. Susser said, walking off.
- Billy Arnott was a mustachioed Chicago transplant, who quit his position as Polo Lounge manager to become Mr. Susser’s maitre de’. He interrupted to ask Lynn Wasserman where he should be seated later in the evening.
- With a grunt, Mr. Susser replied “I don’t know”, Then, he said: “Her father always sat down at table one. So put her at table one.” (Lew Wasserman, a Tana regular before his passing in 2004, was a regular at table one.
- The Hilton sisters, Derek Jeter, and Jason Pomeranc (a New York hotelier) were also present.
- “When I spoke with him before he opened up the place, he actually state that he wanted to open a joint, which is the word he use. That speaks volumes,” stated Mr. Pomeranc. His circle of friends enjoys a biweekly dinner at Dan Tana’s but has moved to Craig’s. “It’s exciting for people to think of another restaurant to add on to my short list of “this is my regular spot here in L.A.”
- The billionaire investor Mr. Winnick tried to think of other contenders, but was unsuccessful (“There’s Ivy on Saturday mornings”), and is certain he has a winner with Mr. Susser.
- He said, “He’s a passionate man, and he always took good care of me at Dan Tana’s.” “And then my children started going, and he took good care of them. Craig has a chance, I believe.”
Nikki Finke (hyper-connected blogger at Deadline Hollywood) gave a grudging endorsement of her confidence. Read her October post about Craig’s.
Ryan Seacrest, the host of American Idol, was at one table while Lisa Gastineau and Brittny Gastineau were at another table.
“What are they doing here?” Ryan Seacrest exclaimed as he saw Jerry West, a former star for the Craigs Los Angeles Lakers. “What are you referring to?” “What do you mean?” replied Mr. West. “This is the most popular restaurant in town.”
Well, not quite yet. It may be coming.
Ken Ziffren is a Hollywood heavyweight lawyer who said that he was impressed with the “spirit and diversity” of Hollywood. He also noted that he likely won’t be going to Dan Tana’s as often anymore.
He said that he liked the atmosphere better here, noting that Dan Tana’s is a place where people get drunk and start talking loudly. It’s really, really loud.
It takes more than just the customers or the food to make a restaurant a success.
Mr. McCarty stated, “You need a David Chasen, a Peter Morton, an Elaine, or a Michael.” Or a Craig.

CEO faces backlash for crying selfie after layoffs announcement on LinkedIn

CEO Crying Selfie Layoffs: A CEO of a US company is facing flak for the way he announced the firing of his employees on LinkedIn, with people deeming it reprehensible.
Braden Wallake, the CEO of HyperSocial, posted a photo of himself crying while trying to explain why few employees had to be laid off from his company.

CEO posts crying selfie on LinkedIn after firing employees
“I’ve gone back and forth whether to post this or not. We just had to layoff a few of our employees. I’ve seen a lot of layoffs over the last few weeks on LinkedIn. Most of those are due to the economy, or whatever other reason. Ours? My fault,” Wallake wrote.
“I made a decision in February to stop selling our main services and focus on a new service. A higher priced service. It’s a great service, and something we will continue to offer, but it’s for the right kinds of companies,” he added.
“Now, I know my team will say that ‘we made that decision together’, but I lead us into it. And because of those failings, I had to do today, the toughest thing I’ve ever had to do.”
Wallake said despite the layoffs, the company has always been a people first business. “We’ve always been a people first business. And we always will be. Days like today, I wish I was a business owner that was only money driven and didn’t care about who he hurt along the way.”
“So, I just want people to see, that not every CEO out there is cold-hearted and doesn’t care when he/she have to lay people off. I’m sure there are hundreds and thousands of others like me. The ones you don’t see talked about. Because they didn’t lay off 50 or 500 or 5000 employees,” he said.
He further went on add that hoped his employees realised how much he loved them. “I know it isn’t professional to tell my employees that I love them. But from the bottom of my heart, I hope they know how much I do. Every single one. Every single story. Every single thing that makes them smile and every single thing that makes them cry. Their families. Their friends. Their hobbies,” he wrote.
CEO criticised for his crying selfie after firing employees
The post has gone viral and people have laid into Wallake for the crying selfie he posted.
Screengrab/LinkedIn
“Don’t worry everyone. Not every CEO is cold hearted. Some are attention seeking narcissists. it’s fine. Stop worrying,” one user commented.
“Taking a selfie while crying. I applaud your ability to multitask under distress,” another user said.
“Three things that disturb me about this post – one, this strikes as “how hard this is for me, pity the poor CEO” when people have just lost their jobs. A bit insensitive. Two, the authors replies to peoples comments seem in a tone that suggests he’s not exactly heart broken. And three, if you’ve laid people off and you are taking to LinkedIn to post about it, maybe link them, sing their praises and skills and let other companies know they would be amazing people to hire. This post just comes off as attention seeking,” a third user added.
