David Bonola Blamed Orsolya Gaal For Giving Him HIV

David Bonola allegedly confessed to murdering Gaal on April 16 in the basement of her wealthy Forest Hills home by saying, “She was cheating on me with someone, and she gave me HIV”
Mr Bonola, 44, pled not guilty on all 13 counts of the indictment against him on Tuesday in Queens Supreme Court, including murder, burglary, and concealment of a human corpse.
Gaal allegedly invited Bonola to her Queens apartment for “strange jobs” before her murder. Afterwards, the two argued, and Bonola killed Gaal.
Mr. Bonola allegedly stabbed Gaal 58 times and slashed her throat, then rolled her body six blocks to a park near Jackie Robinson Parkway. The following morning, a dog walker came over her body.
Orsolya Gaal Cheated Bonola
Mr. Bonola tells investigators in newly disclosed court records that his relationship with Gaal soured when she started dating other men.
Bonola told 112th Precinct officers, “She lied to me and used me.” She said she loved me, but that she couldn’t be with just one man. She talked to another person on the phone and told him she’d be seeing him.
That made me angry. I couldn’t accept it,” he added.
The 44-year-old told detectives Gaal denied having HIV and stated she no longer wanted to be with him during their disagreement.
Mr. Bonola told police, “She kept saying I hate you and stabbed me in the left hand.” Gaal threatened him with a knife, according to his account.
“I grabbed the knife and cut her in the neck.”
Mr. Bonola explained to Assistant District Attorney Peter McCormack on 20 April why Gaal had so many stab wounds, adding, “She kept moving, so I stabbed her.”
He told authorities that he started wiping the blood off the floor and walls with towels after realising that she was not breathing because of the amount of blood spraying out of Gaal’s neck.
He rolled Gaal’s body to where it was found and put it in a hockey duffel bag, he said.
Mr. Bonola was seen moving the suitcase near Gaal’s home on surveillance video.
The 44-year-old claimed cops he destroyed Gaal’s laptop and phone because they included dirty videos of them.
If convicted, Mr Bonola faces up to 25 years in prison.
