Helicopter crash morgan city louisiana: One person is dead

The US Coast Guard has confirmed that one person died and two crew members were injured after a helicopter crashed in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday. A Coast Guard aircrew rescued the crew from the water and then transferred them to a hospital in New Orleans.

The rescue came as a result of a call from Westwind Helicopter Inc., which said that it was operating a flight from Pensacola, Florida, to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. It was reported that the trimaran Honeywind 3 was taking on water.

Rescue crews located the body of the third crew member inside the submerged helicopter, and another person in the water. In addition to being treated for shark bites, the two men were taken to University Medical Center in New Orleans.

While the Coast Guard may be taking its time to rescue the survivors of an untimely demise, it appears to have the upper hand in the medical department.

This is thanks in large part to the efforts of the Department of Public Safety’s law enforcement arm. The state’s top dogs flung themselves into the fray in order to ensure that all were safe and sound.

Two of the crew members were recovered from the murky waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A third crew member was “hauled out” via an oil rig crew boat.

All three were in the ilk of the lucky few, including an aspiring Navy pilot who was reportedly a fan of the Gulf of Mexico. For an industry that’s known for its lack of redundancy, the State of Louisiana can count itself lucky.

Lifejackets saved the men’s lives

A US Coast Guard crew made a daring rescue in the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend. Two men were rescued from the waters, and one had to fight off sharks. During the rescue, they were wearing life vests.

One man was able to see the sun from his life raft. Another was able to locate a cell phone signal. The third swam several miles to find help. They were rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter.

When the boat sank, the men did what most of us do when in the water: they jumped in. It turned out that two of the men were actually being rescued from sharks.

The best part of the whole event is that the rescue was captured on video. In a video shot from a Coast Guard helicopter, the rescuers pull the men out of the water.

Air Stations are first responders

The Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans has been an important contributor to the Gulf of Mexico for fifty years. It’s proud to be part of the Gulf Coast’s history and has helped save thousands of lives. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit the coast and required Coast Guard assistance, including a multi-day response to oil spill cleanup.

Typical assistance cases include rescue of stranded mariners, search and rescue, medico evacuations, and locating overdue and lost vessels.

The most efficient response is to deploy a team of ready flight crews and support personnel to assist in coordinating these tasks.

The air detachment at New Orleans was a small one with two Sikorsky HO3S-1G helicopters, four remote operated marine vehicles, and seven enlisted personnel.

They are equipped with a variety of sensors, including a forward-looking infrared radar and a computerized navigation system integrated with an autopilot.

The massive air evacuation from the Convention Center to the New Orleans airport

Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans, and residents were forced to evacuate. About 80% of the city’s population evacuated.

But many elderly people died in the aftermath of the storm. Some were trapped in their homes, while others were left stranded in rooftops.

The Superdome was used as a refuge of last resort. Many of the victims were not checked for weapons. In some cases, looters in boats with guns attempted to break into the medical center at Tulane University. Fortunately, staff members at the center repelled the looters.

The convention center was also used as a refuge of last resort. It had been broken into late in the evening. Evacuees began to take over the center. By September 4, the convention center was completely evacuated.
