How old is kratos: Throughout the God of War series, Kratos has gone through a lot. Now that he’s preparing to face Ragnarok, how old is the Spartan Ghost?

This year’s God Of War Ragnarok will see the return of Kratos and Atreus, but how old will the Ghost of Sparta be? Kratos was initially introduced to gamers in 2005’s God Of War, in which the devoted Spartan realises how the Greek Gods he serves have betrayed him while searching for Pandora’s Box.

In 2007, God Of War 2 was released, with a new god of war teaming up with the Titans to stop Zeus. God of War 3 was released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and concluded Kratos’ Greek tale, in which he pursues vengeance on both the Gods and Titans for everything he has been through.

Kratos reappeared eight years later in God of War for the PlayStation 4, but this time in a new mythological world based on Norse mythology. In God of War 2018, Kratos has left his past behind and begun a new life with Faye, the mother of his son Atreus, in the realm of Midgard. Kratos and Atreus went out to fulfil Faye’s wish of scattering her ashes at the highest point of the nine kingdoms after she died of an unexplained cause.

Because so much has happened in Kratos’ life since God of War 3 and the original trilogy, determining his age might be difficult. Kratos’ age may be calculated in two ways: how long he has been alive between his birth in ancient Greece and his arrival in the Norse kingdoms, and how long he has lived in Midgard.

There is a scene in God of War (2018) where we learn that Tyr’s temple has been sleeping for 150 winters. We encounter a Greek vase with Kratos on it later in the game at the temple, implying that Kratos has been in Midgard for at least 150 years. Kratos isn’t immortal, but thanks to the gods’ might, he’s nearly impossible to kill and ages much more slowly than the average person.

Kratos Is Over 1000 Years Old In God Of War

How old is kratos

It wouldn’t be incorrect to say that Kratos is around 150 years old in God of War, but it also wouldn’t be accurate. We can figure out how old Kratos is by comparing game events to real-life occurrences.

God of War takes place before Fimbulwinter, the event that signals Ragnarok, which occurred in 535 AD. The end of God of War 3 focuses on the destruction of Sparta, which occurred in 464 BC. Based on those two dates and the assumption that Kratos is in his 30s at the time of God Of War I, Kratos is around 1050 years old at the start of God Of War II (2018).

In God of War Ragnarok, Kratos’ son Atreus can assist with the question of how old he is. The official novel for God Of War confirms that Atreus is 11 years old in the game. Fimbulwinter lasts three years, so Atreus will be 14 years old by the time Ragnarok occurs, which is when the game is set. By adding 14 to Kratos’ age, he will be around 1064 years old.

Kratos has remained one of the most powerful video game characters despite being nearly 1000 years old, but Ragnarok may finally make the Ghost of Sparta feel his age.

God of War hinted that Kratos isn’t as powerful as he was in ancient Greece, but God of War Ragnarok could go even further and force him to lay down his axe and blades. Players will hopefully not have to wait long for God of War Ragnarok to arrive, as Kratos and Atreus will need all of their power to face the end of the world.
