Keep track of the thoughts that go through your head and stop you from reading. Write down your loan-term goals. What are your reasons for studying?
Keep this going for a while and then come back to read what you have written. You will be able to identify the best ways to stay motivated by understanding the frustrations and obstacles that prevent you from learning.
2. Plan and create a schedule that suits your learning style

Study groups can be more beneficial for some students because they have more accountability. Some students find study groups distracting, and they tend to be more focused when studying on their own.
Some prefer to start with the easiest topics and then move on to the more difficult topics. Some prefer to move on to the more straightforward topics first.

You will be able to see the end by setting both short- and long-term goals. Be realistic but also challenging in your goals. You must ensure that you are meeting your goals and getting the most out of them.
Pro tip: Make sure you post your goals so that they are visible every day. This is a great way for you to keep track of your goals and your progress. Every semester, I made a sign with my goal grade for the semester to put on my desk. This way, I could have a reminder every day and also had the opportunity to create something.

It’s amazing how the environment you live in can affect your mental health. It’s a great way for you to get started on your study sessions by organizing your desk. You should also get rid of any unnecessary items from your desk. To minimize distractions, a minimalistic desk is the best option.
Take a look at your study area and make some changes. You can declutter your mind by picking up some of your clutter (everyone has at least a little).
5. Do it!
Starting is the hardest part of almost any endeavor. It doesn’t matter how much history or math you hate, once you get started it will be easy. You’ve set your schedule. You know when you should start. Get ready a few minutes before the scheduled time. If you feel hungry, eat something. Always have a bottle of water on hand. If you need to, take a break and go to the bathroom. You don’t want to be late for class or procrastinate.
Make sure to turn off your phone. You can choose to leave your phone on silent, or switch it off. However, it shouldn’t be too close to you to cause distractions every time you get a notification or message. It can be placed under your pillow, or in another area.
If you feel overwhelmed by the impending study time, set a goal to study for at least 15-20 minutes per day without any breaks. Take a break and see how you feel after the time ends. You might be able to dedicate another 15-20 minutes.
6. Get the jam going
Listening to motivational music is a common way to motivate yourself to go to the gym. Did you know it also works for studying? Before you begin your study session, put on something that you enjoy and it will fuel your mind. Before switching to my favorite focus playlist, I listen to ACDC’s “Back In Black” and Walk Off The Earth “Rule The World”.

7. Give yourself a pep talk

Reward yourself every time you achieve a goal in your studies or have a breakthrough on a difficult subject. You can get anything you want, from a donut to a new longboard, depending on your goal.
It can be demoralizing to work hard and feel that no one appreciates your efforts. A great way to show your appreciation is to reward yourself with a meal out or a trip at the movie theater for five dollars.
9. Write down what you feel.
Although it may sound odd, you know how amazing it is to achieve a goal or complete a large paper. Note how you feel when you complete a difficult task. This will be a great motivator for the next time you are having trouble starting. You can keep a notebook in your bag and record your successes. You’ll have a notebook to write down your successes whenever you need it.
