Iftikhar Ahmed, born in Peshawar, Pakistan, is a top-order batsman and a competent off-spinner. He has played for Pakistan in every format and was a member of the squad that drew the Test series 2-2 against England in 2016. However, it was a forgettable debut in an unforgettable game for Pakistan, who levelled the series in the final Test at the Oval.
Prior to that, he made his T20i and ODI debuts in 2016 and 2015, respectively. Again, failures in those few games forced him to miss time. However, his outstanding domestic performances have always put him in the running for a national call-up.
He played for the Karachi Kings in the first PSL season. However, he was released and is now a member of Peshawar Zalmi. His hopes of playing for Pakistan are still alive at the age of 27.
