How did Nick and Vanessa Lachey meet? Know about their relationship
According to Billboard, Nick and Vanessa Lachey (née Minnillo) met on MTV’s TRL in 2003. Vanessa used to host the music variety show, and Nick would frequently perform with his band, 98 Degrees, on it.
Nick was still married to actress Jessica Simpson when they first met. In fact, while on TRL, he would occasionally discuss their show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
Nick and Vanessa had a friendly relationship at the time. Vanessa told the magazine, “It was always about business, and it was always lovely to see him.”
Jessica, on the other hand, filed for divorce in December 2005. Nick dropped a bombshell of an album about their breakup three months later. Vanessa was cast as the female love interest in his titular single What’s Left of Me. The rest, as they say, is history.
Nick and Vanessa Love story
During filming, Nick and Vanessa fell in love. In fact, in the MTV Making the Video programme that aired alongside the music video, the two were shown flirting.
“How do we practise? Do you want us to come to your trailer?” Vanessa taunted Nick in the show, and Nick said, “I suppose we’ll just have to improvise a little bit. It’s up to you. I don’t believe there will be any rehearsal time.” She then confessed in front of the camera, “He’s a real find — a mini-crush.
Naturally, many began to suspect that Nick and Vanessa were having an affair. But she was nowhere to be found when Nick appeared on TRL to promote his — or, more accurately, their — music video.
Vanessa later spoke to Billboard about her absence: “The video, which aired on TRL, marked the start of our friendship. That’s when it stopped being buddies and became romantic “she clarified “I was so terrified and crushing on him when he came to debut it that I didn’t show up for work that day. I called in ill to work.
Vanessa didn’t exactly mention this incident, but she did say in Season 1, Episode 6 of The Ultimatum that falling for Nick was nerve-wracking, which could explain why she was so nervous to go to work that day.
She informed the candidates, “He was literally in a very public marriage and a pretty public divorce, and I had to go through all that s—t very publicly, and it was extremely terrible for us.” “It wasn’t until he said, ‘I’m going to let it go,’ and I replied, ‘I’m going to let it go,’ that we genuinely committed to each other.”
Thankfully, everything seemed to have worked out for Nick and Vanessa. They became engaged in November 2010 and married eight months later. Camden, born in 2012, Brooklyn, born in 2015, and Phoenix, born in 2016, are their three children.
