When Doral Legacy Park is completed, it will feature an 18-acre recreational facility. The park will include a two-story LEED Silver recreation facility that is centrally located. The new recreation center features a multi-purpose room, concession building, arts and crafts room, and a senior and teen room. It will also have a double indoor basketball gymnasium and a shaded seating area. Also included are locker rooms on the first floor.
A covered pedestrian bridge is part of the design of the facility. It provides safe access to the park above a busy city street. Designed as an active method of transportation, the pedestrian bridge is intended to encourage people to move about the park.
Another component of the park is a 25-acre lake that will be equipped with a walking/exercise trail, a fishing pier, boardwalks, and a nature/recreation center.
These elements are designed to promote environmental education and conservation. In addition, the park will have an outdoor theater, a playground, and baseball/softball field.

Another feature of this park is its eight lighted regulation size soccer fields, one of which is an international size field. In addition, it boasts a state-of-the-art athletic facility with one lighted stadium field, a lighted playground, a professional-grade locker room, and vendor space.
As a part of a public-private partnership, the City of Doral purchased a 3-acre parcel of land adjacent to Downtown Doral Park. It has been designed to provide a state-of-the-art venue for major events, including music festivals, and other sporting activities.
