Keaira pleaded guilty in second-degree murder before the trial even began. She was already on probation for an armed burglary, for which she was convicted of in 2017. Keaira was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 16 years imprisonment in 2019.

After her release, she will be under extended supervision for a further ten year. Keaira is currently at the Taycheedah Correctional Institute, Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. She will be released in 2045.
