The death of Riley Sluman in a motorbike crash is a sad story. She was just 24 years old and had a big heart. A love for music and live shows meant that she never missed any of her favorite bands. Her father, Michael Scott Sluman, was also killed in the crash.
Neither the daughter nor her dad was wearing a helmet when they were involved in the accident. The truck that hit the motorcycle, a 1999 Chevy Silverado, was driven by a 24-year-old female.
The crash was investigated as a possible alcohol-related incident, according to a release from the Frederick Police Department. This was a tragic loss for the family and friends of this young lady, and her mother, Sarah.

Motorcycle accident in Frederick, Colorado
A motorcycle accident involving a father and daughter has resulted in one person being killed and another injured. The two were riding on Colorado Boulevard, which is between Weld County Roads 18 and 20. It was around 7:30 p.m. when the crash occurred, according to the Frederick Police Department.
Both the motorcycle driver and the pickup truck were not wearing helmets. After the crash, the pickup drove off the road and into a ditch. As a result,
the roads were closed between Godding Hollow Boulevard and Pine Cone Avenue. By Wednesday morning, the woman driving the pickup had remained hospitalized, according to police.
According to a release issued by the Frederick Police Department on Tuesday, the cause of the crash is under investigation. Investigators are looking into the possibility that alcohol played a role in the crash.
Since neither the motorcyclists nor the pickup driver was wearing helmets, the police department is investigating the incident as a possible drunken driving accident.
The couple was traveling north on Colorado Boulevard when the accident happened. The pickup drove into the southward path of the motorcyclist. The impact ejected the motorcyclist, Riley Sluman, out of the bike. She died on the spot.
According to the Weld County Coroner’s Office, the deceased are Michael Scott Sluman, who was 54, and his daughter, Riley Mae Sluman, who was 24. The Coroner’s Office also identified the woman driving the pickup as a 24-year-old female.

Although it is heartbreaking, her loss is not only felt by her friends and family, but by her classmates at the nearby high school, which she attended. Riley will be greatly missed, and a video in memory of her is a fitting tribute.
This may be a sad day for the Sluman household, but the memory of her life will live on for many years to come. Hopefully her father and mom will be able to find peace in their new home in Texas.

Southeast DC: Police are asking the public for help in finding a car that they suspect is link to Monday’s shooting at a DC high school, which left a teenager with serious injuries.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting occurred in the 2200 block 14th Street at 2:15 p.m. close to DC Prep Anacostia Elementary campus.
Officers arrived to find a 13-year old boy shot. He was breathing and conscious when officers arrived at the scene. MPD reports that the boy treated for his injuries and will likely survive.
Police released Monday night a photo of the car that they believed involved in the shooting. A surveillance camera captured the gray/silver Hyundai and gave it the license plate 9DJ0820. MPD offers an update following a deadly double shooting in Southeast D.C. on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
Police said that a third man in the vehicle with the two victims and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, the incident began with two cars shooting at one another.
“It’s personal to me tonight, just as it was in the past. Tasha Bryant, MPD First District Commander, stated that any loss of life, as I have said on numerous occasions, is one too many. “Tonight, it is a tragedy. My heart is broken that we are here again discussing gun violence.”
