This day falls on 13th of December to honor St. Lucia (St. Lucy), a first Christian Martyr. She was slain for allegedly feeding Christians in Rome’s tunnels. Girls wear candles and wreaths to celebrate.This winter holiday is a celebration of light amid the dark, long winters in Scandinavia.

The participants wear traditional African attire. Groups celebrate St. Lucia’s Day by clothing their oldest daughter in white and serving coffee and baked goodies. Kwanzaa is Dec. 26-Jan. 1.African Americans decorate their homes with fruits and vegetables and light candles for these festivals.
New Years Eve- 31st Dec 2022
