The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles will be hosting the Jacksonville Dolphins on February 26, 2022. This game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. It will be at 6:00PM UTC. You can find more details and a live score at ESPN+.

Jacksonville has won eight of the last nine games. They are averaging 66.0 points per game. Their record against the spread is 18-5-0.

FGCU is averaging 77.7 points per game. Isaiah Thompson leads the way with 13.6 points per game.

Chase Johnston is also averaging a team-high 7.7 points per game. Bryce Workman adds 9.8 points. Osayi Osifo has 5.3 rebounds.

FGCU’s men’s basketball team will open ASUN conference play against the Dolphins on Saturday. The Jaguars are a top-ten program in the state of Florida and have won eight of the last 10 against FGCU.

The aforementioned – and a dozen more – is a good indication of how important this game is to FGCU. FGCU is a public, four-year college. As such, it has more students than JU. Moreover, the Eagles outperformed the general university undergraduate population for 27 straight semesters.

FGCU is in the middle of a crazy run. A loss to Maryland on the road ended the team’s 30-game win streak, but it’s likely not the end of the line. This is a team that can take on the best of the best in the ASUN and possibly upset an SEC team on the road. It’s a team that will keep fans on their toes.

The Dolphins are a perennial power in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Their record this season is 22-11. In the past two seasons, they have lost records to Florida, San Diego State and Jacksonville.

However, their defense has improved and they are holding opponents to 58.9 points per game. They are fourth in Division I in scoring defense and eighth in field goal percentage.

FGCU is not a top rebounding team. It will need to force tons of turnovers and rebound well in order to defeat Florida. If FGCU shoots poorly from long range, the team will have a hard time beating the Gators.

FGCU vs Chattanooga

The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s basketball team has a lot to smile about this season. First, they are ranked No. 20 in the nation. Second, they are the regular-season champion of the Atlantic Sun.

Third, they are playing in the Hilton Garden Inn Classic next week. Now they are preparing to take on SoCon rivals Liberty and Chattanooga in their first-ever meeting.

FGCU’s 7-0 start was not enough to overcome a 17-point lead by APSU in the first quarter. And neither was a 10-point lead by the Mocs in the second. But the Mocs did make a few fumbles. They lost seven of their nine rebounds in the first half, and they committed five steals.

APSU also took advantage of the Mocs’ misses in the paint. It wasn’t until Roberson hit a field goal with 3:02 left in the game that APSU actually jumped out to a 23-20 lead.

Jaguars vs Texans

The Jaguars are on a three-game winning streak and have the AFC South lead in their sights. However, a loss at Houston on Sunday could derail their playoff hopes.

Last season, the Texans beat Jacksonville in the season opener and won both meetings in 2017. That gave them a 28-13 advantage over the Jags in the regular season series.

Jacksonville is coming off a 19-3 win over the New York Jets. That was the Jaguars’ second win over the Jets this season and their third in five games overall.

The Jaguars jumped out to a 14-point lead late in the fourth quarter before a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns swung the game. Andre Johnson caught a 48-yard pass for the win. He then ran for a lone score.

On the other hand, the Texans lost a talented rookie quarterback in Dameon Pierce two weeks ago. They’ve won eight straight over Jacksonville and are looking to extend their eight-game win streak.
